As the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is preparing to conduct its parliamentary primaries in constituencies with sitting members of Parliament (MPs) across the country after the ban of social gathering

One of the constituencies,in the Eastern region where the contest will be hot and interesting is the Akyem Abuakwa North constituency

Three (3) popular persons will be seeking to unseat the incumbent mp ,Hon Gifty Twum Ampofo to vie for the NPP in the coming December parliamentary election

Among the four aspirants , who have already picked nomination forms are two lawyers, one pharmacist, and the incumbent MP who double as the deputy minister of education in charge of Tvet.

Abuakwa North constituency is one of the domineering and secured seats for the NPP in the Eastern region and has always been falling for the NPP since it creation. It began with prof Adu Boahen and to the current MP which sees to be a strong hold of the New Patriotic Party

In the upcoming primaries, some political pundits believe that it will be one of the crucial contests in the history of the constituency considering the Calibre of persons gearing up for the race

For Lawyer Serwaa Achampong, chances are that she may attract the sympathy of delegates as she is from Old Tafo the home of the late JB Danquah Adu . Pharmacist Kofi Mensah Obeng popularly called the people’s choice, who is believed to have the backing of some party executives also a homeboy from a very popular community Akyem Osiem may win the hearts of delegates for proximity and with some massive developmental projects embarked upon. Lawyer Kay Amoah also from a popular community Akyem Kukurantumi having the chances that he may attract sympathy of delegates as this is his third time, while the incumbent Hon Gifty Twum Ampofo,the first MP to be given ministerial position in the Abuakwa North constituency, appearing the third time may also win for proximity

Among them who were committed to giving Covid-19 the best fight to complement the efforts of government in reducing the spread of the dangerous disease is the pharmacist Kofi Mensah Obeng

He was the first aspirant to encouraged residents of Akyem Kukurantumi,Tafo ,Osiem and its environs to remain calm and cooperate with the president’s directives and other health precautionary measures in a bid to reduce their risk of contracting the virus, he also made a donations of Veronica bucket and its stand to the various taxi stations across the constituency, he has registered free insurance for all the delegates and he is yet to distributes over Thousands of branded Face masks to the constituents. Though the other aspirants has also did their best in the fight against coronavirus covid-19 in the constituency by donating PPEs but journalist across the region and the constituency with no doubt can state unequivocally that Kofi Mensah Obeng is at the Apex of the race.

The Chief Executive Officer of Ewiase FM, who double as an Assistant Professor at the Norfolk State University in the United States, Dr. Tina Abrefa-Gyan has advice delegates to make the right choice.

She said in every four years, the development of every constituency falls on the shoulders of the delegates and electorates as well.

In an interview with Ewiase FM in Wenchi which was monitored by Klassic News, Dr. Tina Abrefa-Gyan who is aspiring for the parliamentary candidate for the rulling New Partriotic Party [NPP] in Wenchi in the Bono Region said, delegates must be vigilant when is time for the NPP primirates.

According to Dr. Tina Abrefa-Gyan, the kind of leaders delegates choose for thier constituency will determine the progress of the constituency so delegates must try and choose someone who have Wenchi and it’s enviroment at heart.

“If you want the development and betterment of Wenchi and the nation at large choose diligently” she added.

The deputy communication officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Akyem Abuakwa north of the Eastern Region Alhaji Abdul Wahab, has expressed anger and disappointment at the vice president Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia attempt to compare the electricity crisis to coronavirus.

According to him “It’s a disgrace to all Muslims as the vice president who is seen as a Muslim to tell lies in the month of Ramadan. As we all know Ramadan is the month of mandatory fasting for all able Muslim adult without valid exemption, and also a powerful platform for rebirth of individual and believers are expected to reflect on the mercy of the month in their daily interaction. Dr. Bawumia lying in the month of Ramadan is like eating of flesh of a cadaver in the Qur’an.

Speaking on Radio station monitored by Klassic News he said” Dr Bawumia can’t compare Dumsor to Covid-19 never and ever, How can the whole vice president claimed the NPP Government have been able to perform much better than the previous administration, How can he decieved the whole nation by saying the data is very clear that he Dr Bawumia advises Former president to take a look at the data before he speaks.

” It is inhumane to compare a pandemic killing human beings to an electricity generation problem that was resolved by Former president John Mahama. It is time to caution Dr. Bawumia not to be proud of cosmetic macro economic well-being. Today Ghana’s public debt has increased from GHC 120.3 billion as at 2016 to GHC 235 billion as of 2020.

The NPP Government claimed the Nation has recorded numerous cases of covid-19 Without the nation notifying the victims, again the mortality rate of the coronavirus (covid-19) as claimed by the NPP Government has not yet disclose to the public the family of those victims belonging to. Also the NPP Government failed to accounts to the public about the fund and the amount given by the American Government to cure Coronavirus haahahahah is time to voice things out, Alhaji Abdul Wahab claims.
