Presbyterian Church of Ghana – Wenchi Presbytery donates to wenchi Methodist hospital.

As part of the Easter celebration to remember the death of Jesus Christ, the Wenchi Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana visit the hospital with items like milk, Milo, eggs etc

In an interview with Klassic News, Rev. Jones Ofosu Afari wenchi district minister explains the motive behind the donation.

Added the need to visit the needy in times like this and the targeted people where Pregnant women ward and children’s ward.

Deputy nurse manager at wenchi Methodist hospital, Mr. Kingley Osei Sarfo received the items and stated that, to maintain a health environment for the sick in the municipality, they will used the items as indicated and advice others to do same.

B/R STOP VILIFICATION IN THE MMDCEs APPOINTMENT – NANA AGYENANTWI APPEALS TO NPP PARTY MEMBERS

Nana Agyenantwi, youth organizer for Wenchi constituency of the new patriotic party is appealing to the Npp members in the constituency to stop vilification in the MMDCEs appointment.

According to him, the time has come for the Npp to strive beyong normal to stop vilification within the ranks by empowering party faithful at the grassroot level which for him have become laughingstock, hence making a passionate appeal to members

Party members who have requisite qualifications and experience should be considering looking for another position not only to be a parliamentary, municipal chief executive or district chief executive. He stressed.

Explaining the reason behind his call, Nana Agyenantwi said it is rather unfortunate that party faithfuls who devoted their entire time doing grounds work for the party, being it mounting banners, ghetto -to- ghetto campaign, pasting of posters, defending the party on media platforms among others are oftentimes vilifying others when appointments are being made. Vilifying party members in power in order to gain favour from the President can even change the mind of the president, and if we failed to change our minds can do us a great harm.

He commended the president Akufo Addo for appointing more party members from Wenchi in his government, he continue to appeal to the president to again consider the Npp members in the Wenchi constituency in his government.

He ended that, the era where party faithfuls were seen vilifying others to gain what they want is and must be over.

Pictures: Nurse shot dead, 3 others injured in robbery attack at Wenchi

A 25-year-old nurse, Erica Adufa died instantly in a robbery attack on the Subinso – Nchiraa road in the Wenchi Municipality Saturday evening.

The armed robbers shot at a taxi Opel Astra car in which she was travelling en route to Nchiraa from Subinso II, leaving the driver in critical condition with two other passengers sustaining various degree of injury.

The injured are currently receiving treatment at the Wenchi Methodist Hospital.

One of the victims, Ofosu Nuamah, a 50-year-old mason said the robbers rushed to the middle of the road and started firing gunshots resulting in the death of the nurse.null

The Medical Director at Wenchi Methodist Hospital, Dr. Oman disclosed that the passenger who’s in a critical condition has been referred to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.

The Police are yet to make any arrest as well as comment on the incident.

Ahafo Region: Cocoa farmers support 25 health facilities in Asunafo North to fight Covid-19.

The Asunafo North Municipal Co Operative Cocoa farmers in Ahafo Region trough Fairtrade/GIZ recovery fund has donated some PPEs to 25 health facilities in the Asunafo North Municipal to fight against Covid-19 pandemic.

The PPEs include Sanitizers, carbolic soap, liquid soap, surgical gloves, nose masks, among others cost Gh¢23,650.00 which is the second time the union support the health facilities since the outbreak of Covid-19.

Mr. Daniel Amponsah, President of the Cocoa farmers said the gesture form part of the union quest to help government in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic in the municipality.

PRESIDENT OF COCOA FARMERS DONATING PPE’S TO THE MCE

Hon Dr Prince Kwakye Afriyie Has Distributed School Uniforms.

The Wenchi Municipal Chief Executive Dr Prince Kwakye Afriyie together with the municipal Coordinating Director Mr Edward Abazin has distributed school uniforms to schools in the Wenchi municipality on behalf of the government through the Ministry of Education.

According to Hon MCE, the need to clothe pupils to increase school enrollment is key, but the intervention’s contribution to enhance the confidence of pupils and make them look decent and presentable must not be neglected. He said “this move is to ensure that poverty does not prevent any child from accessing at least basic education in the country,” .

He continue to say that, academic performance of some pupils had been affected by their parents’ inability to acquire school uniforms for them, adding that the social intervention programme would lead to the distribution of more uniforms for school children.

Mr Joseph Yaw Mensah deputy administrator and finance received the uniforms on behalf of the headmasters and headmistresses, he shown appreciation to the Government, Ministry of Education and the Hon MCE.

Rawlings Funeral: Wenchi NDC Holds Vigil Tonight

The party executives of the National Democratic Congress [NDC] of Wenchi in the Bono Region has put measures in place to pay their last respect to the founder of the party, Jerry John Rawlings.

In an interview with the Constituency Communications Director, Mr. Abdul Aziz Bamba disclosed to Ewiase FM’s Piesie Yaw Preko that the National executives has informed them to do it to pay their last respect to the party’s founder because not every member can visit where the mortal remains of their beloved founder is laid off.

He died in November at the age of 73 and his funeral was initially scheduled for December 23 but was postponed, because of what the foreign ministry called “unforeseen circumstances”.

According to him, the proceedings start today 7pm at the party’s office in the Constituency, they will not sleep till the next morning where the final burial ceremony takes place.

“We are pleading to every NDC member to take part and also to go with all the covid-19 protocols” he added.

GOVERNMENT SHOULD BAN NAIL CUTTERS (ABOKYI BOYS) BECAUSE THEY CAN ALSO CONTRIBUTE TO COVID 19 SPREADING- DOCTOR APPEALS

The Senior Doctor of One family Clinic at Assin Foso in the Assin Foso Municipality in the Central Region, Dr Koduah Shaibu has appealed to the government of Ghana and Ghana Health Service to place a ban on these Niger boys who cut nails with scissors and other tools from door to door.

Dr Koduah explained how seriously these workers transfer many diseases from one person to the other through their tools.
“Their working tools are not well treated after being used from one person to the other. He added.”

He therefore appealed to the government to band these mobile nail cutters and also urge the government to strictly enforce babbers, hairdressers and other beauticians to observe the safety protocols of the global pandemic.
