Rawlings Funeral: Wenchi NDC Holds Vigil Tonight

The party executives of the National Democratic Congress [NDC] of Wenchi in the Bono Region has put measures in place to pay their last respect to the founder of the party, Jerry John Rawlings.

In an interview with the Constituency Communications Director, Mr. Abdul Aziz Bamba disclosed to Ewiase FM’s Piesie Yaw Preko that the National executives has informed them to do it to pay their last respect to the party’s founder because not every member can visit where the mortal remains of their beloved founder is laid off.

He died in November at the age of 73 and his funeral was initially scheduled for December 23 but was postponed, because of what the foreign ministry called “unforeseen circumstances”.

According to him, the proceedings start today 7pm at the party’s office in the Constituency, they will not sleep till the next morning where the final burial ceremony takes place.

“We are pleading to every NDC member to take part and also to go with all the covid-19 protocols” he added.
